After watching last night’s Game of Thrones finale, I needed to think about it for a while. Here’s the thing: it didn’t live up to my expectations. I don’t know why I expected the finale to end exactly like the books. Before the season began creators David Benioff and DB Weiss said that this season contained scenes from seasons 2 and 3. A Song of Ice and Fire author George RR Martin revealed at last summer’s San Diego Comic Con that they could most likely split up some books over two seasons. Game of Thrones arguably has one of the most talented casts on television. If the season ended like the second book, A Clash of Kings, the show would have lost some talented people. I can understand why they could want to hang onto them. I hate to say it, but I found “Valar Morghulis” quite slow. Except for the last 5 minutes, anyway. (More…)

Game of Thrones. A magnificent series. And the end exceeded all my expectations!. Simply put, today is already a classic.
